On COVID-19 Dear Friends, Patients, and Colleagues: I wanted to give you an update on the Rose Dental policies and specific information about how to limit your risk of exposure to COVID-19 and communicable infectious diseases in general. At Rose Dental we take this viral threat very seriously and are monitoring the situation as it evolves in our area to determine what next steps may be necessary to take. As an office that provides oral surgical treatments on a daily basis, it is our standard policy and operating procedure to treat every patient as a potential contagious disease carrier. We therefore take the highest precautions each and every day regardless of what may or may not be circulating around in our communities. Infection control and prevention is and always has been our top priority in clinical care. I would like to echo the recommendations put forth by the International College of Integrative Medicine. https://icimed.com/icim-position-statement-on-2020-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak/ We have also taken several additional precautionary steps in order to assure your safety and that of our team- members: 1. Constant use of our IQAir unit with HyperHEPA filtration to capture any airborne contagions and allergens. 2. At the close of each day we run Ozone through our HVAC system to help destroy any viruses, mold or bacteria that may be lingering on any surface or in the air within our facility. 3. We use fully ozonated water for all of our clinical as well as general cleaning needs in order to help prevent biofilm and microorganism growth in any instruments and equipment used on patients. 4. We make use of the DentAir Vac Mercury vapor filter to assure no heavy metals are able to escape into the office environment while removing mercury amalgam filings from patients. 5. Ionizers run at all times during office hours to assist in dropping heavy metals and other environmental pollutants out of the air to be captured by the active filtration systems in use. 6. We use Optim33TB Wipes as well as liquid solution to disinfect all surfaces that a patient or staff member may have come in contract with during and after treatment. 7. There is fragrance free hand-sanitizer available immediately at the entrance to our facility as well as in every room and workstation. 8. Optim 33TB wipes are available to wipe down your smartphones and any other frequently touched personal belongings when you arrive. If you have an upcoming appointment or plan to visit our office you are encouraged to wash you hands in the restroom located just off the waiting room and very close to the entrance into our facility. We will refrain from shaking hands or engaging in any close personal contact in accordance with the social distancing recommendations issued by the CDC. If you have an upcoming appointment or visit to our office for any reason but are experiencing active symptoms of cough, chest tightness or shortness of breath or any other common flu or cold symptoms we ask that you call us ahead at 678-528-6747 to reschedule or postpone your dental treatment until well after your symptoms have subsided or have been given clearance by a physician that you are not carrying any infectious disease that may endanger other patients or our staff. Finally, I ask each of you to please maintain caution and continue to follow best hygiene practices and follow all guidelines and recommendation issued by local and federal authorities. I wish you and your friends and family the very best health during this precarious time. We will get through this together! Sincerely, Dr. Zina Aaron and team.
